B-Flap I PRO - Explosion isolation flap
The innovated explosion isolation flap B-FLAP I PRO is certified according to EN 16447 and EN 15089. B-FLAP I PRO was tested by an accredited laboratory with emphasis on real-world conditions in the various production processes.
With the innovation, we bring extended installation options for the explosion isolation flap valve. According to current standards and certifications, the explosion isolation flap can be installed in horizontal and vertical pipeline. It can be used in aspiration systems with pull or push flow. B-FLAP I PRO can also be installed on pipelines containing obstacles or elbows between the protected equipment and the place of installation of the explosion isolation flap. A novelty is also higher pressure resistance (pmax) of the isolation flap valve and increased maximum reduced pressure (pred,max) of the protected vessel, from which a potential explosion spreads. According to the latest tests and certifications, the minimum installation distance has been shortened, and the maximum installation distance from the protected equipment has been extended.
The B-Flap I PRO explosion isolation flap can stop the propagation of an explosion caused by processed organic, melting, coarse, and metal dusts up to explosion class St 3 and dusts with very low values of minimum initiation energy (MIE) and temperature (MIT). This new design of the B-FLAP I PRO explosion isolation flap makes it easier to handle during the installation and operational maintenance.
WHERE IS THE RISK?
In piping systems, during material conveying between individual parts of the production technology, initiation source (e.g. hot surface, friction, a spark from equipment failure, etc.) can be easily formed, which in combination with the flowing air and the transported material creates an explosive mixture. The pressure wave and the flame bursting through the piping system can explode and thus destroy the connected technologies or endanger personnel within a close range.

ENHANCED TECHNICAL PARAMETERS OF B-FLAP I
The explosion isolation flap valve offers the customer effective prevention of explosion transmission between connected technologies. The explosion isolation flap isolates the explosion in the entire pipeline of the suction systems. Thus it is suitable not only to prevent the transmission of explosions at the inlet to the filter or cyclone but also to isolate the explosion on the outlet piping from filtration systems (so-called clean side of the filter). Other installation options of B-FLAP I PRO are, for example, on the suction line to the mill, on the inlet, where material flows to dryers, and other similar equipment.
Explosion isolation flap B-FLAP I PRO is a mechanical device designed to prevent the transfer of flame and pressure between technologies during an explosion. During normal operation, the explosion isolation flap valve is kept open using the RPD mechanism. This solution significantly reduces pressure losses in the piping system. During the explosion, the protected pipe will be closed and locked. Together with other safety elements, our flap valve forms an effective system for the protection of technological units. Most often, B-FLAP I PRO is used in combination with an explosion venting device – VENT PRO or FLEX. The explosion isolation flap is suitable for pipes with a diameter from DN 100 to DN 800.
